Landlocked Pirate Syndrome

Imagine you're a pirate who used to go on all these dangerous adventures, and now you're working for a merchant in a village to support your wife and kids. You love your family, and you're happy to have a simpler life, but...

You miss that adventurer you used to be. 

I think we can all relate to this. I've noticed that people towards the end of life tell me and my husband (a hospice chaplain) about the times they really lived to the fullest. The wild times. When life was a bit more dangerous. 

I've also noticed that I feel like I'm able to be myself - that wild adventurous girl I miss sometimes - when I paint! And then everything else that follows feels like an exciting adventure. I share more about that in this video. I hope it inspires you!
